Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities

Atmos Energy Corporation, a natural gas-only distributor, is an S&P 500 company. We safely deliver reliable, affordable, efficient and abundant natural gas to about 130,000 customers in 65 Colorado communities spanning from Greeley and surrounding areas in the northeast; Steamboat Springs and Craig in the northwest; Salida, Gunnison, and Canon City in central Colorado; Lamar and many small communities in the southeast corner, in addition to Cortez and Durango areas in the southwest corner.

Natural gas plays a vital role in achieving Colorado’s low-carbon energy future. Protecting energy choice is a key driver of our economy and helps families thrive. A diverse mix of energy sources including natural gas works together to provide affordable, reliable, and efficient energy that we can count on today and for generations to come. About 76 percent of Colorado households rely on natural gas to keep their family warm and secure. As Colorado continues to grow, access to all sources of energy helps our businesses prosper and families thrive.

We continue to modernize our infrastructure in Colorado as a part of Atmos Energy's ongoing investment in the safety and reliability of our natural gas system. Just like other infrastructure in our communities, such as highways and bridges, natural gas systems must be replaced and modernized over time. These projects include upgrading pipelines located in city streets, including the gas line that connects to your meter. From 2020 to 2025, we invested $232 million to enhance safety and reliability and reduce methane emissions in Colorado.

Compassion to give back to communities we serve is woven into the culture of Atmos Energy. In the past year, our Colorado division has volunteered 1,000 hours and contributed $289,000 to support community endeavors and nonprofit organizations. Our Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities initiative focuses on three primary pillars: fueling bright minds and healthy futures for kids, fueling honor and thanks for our community heroes, and fueling hope and growth for our neighbors.
