DENVER, COLO. – The Colorado Municipal League (CML) Executive Board has appointed Victor City Administrator Bobby Tech to fill a vacancy in the Small Municipality category, representing communities with populations less than 8,000. Tech was approved by the Board in October and will serve through June 2026. As an appointee, Tech may seek election to continue serving in the role when the term expires in June.
"I am honored to be selected to serve on this statewide board and eager to advance the organization's mission,” said Tech. “The Colorado Municipal League is an important tool in municipal planning and knowledge. I am passionate about elevating rural voices, developing the next generation of municipal leaders, and ensuring municipalities of every size have a seat at the table.”
Originally from Kansas, Tech moved to Colorado in 2019 and has worked in local government ever since, serving communities of all sizes throughout Colorado and the Mountain West. His professional experience includes municipal management, budgeting, strategic planning, and organizational development.
“Bobby's expertise in local government and his commitment to public service will bring a valuable perspective to the Executive Board as we continue supporting Colorado’s cities and towns,” said Kevin Bommer, CML executive director. “As City Administrator of Victor, which is a historic mining community whose economy remains closely tied to natural resource extraction, he understands the unique challenges facing rural municipalities, including limited resources, aging infrastructure, economic uncertainty, and the impacts of changing industries. He is an excellent addition to this Board."
The CML Executive Board is composed of 21 elected officials and key municipal staff elected by the membership at the League’s annual business meeting each June. In the event of a mid-cycle vacancy, the Executive Board may appoint a member to fill the remainder of the vacancy's term. The board oversees the organization’s finances, management, and policy direction. The full board roster, photos and biographies are available at cml.org.
