CML Board members and staff were very sorry to learn of the passing of Theresa "Terry" C. Howard, mayor of the Town of Kiowa. Howard was elected mayor last year, following four years of service on the town board.
Kimberly Boyd, Kiowa town administrator and CML Board member, said “Mayor Howard was someone I deeply respected and truly valued working alongside. She cared about this community in a genuine, constant way, not just as mayor but as a neighbor and friend to many. Her sudden passing has left a profound void, both personally and professionally. I am grateful for her steady leadership, her thoughtfulness, and the trust she placed in those of us who served with her. Our town is better because of her, and her presence is and will be deeply missed.”
A celebration of life will be held Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the AG Building of the Elbert County Fairgrounds. (95 Ute Ave., Kiowa, Colorado). A reception will immediately follow at the Elbert County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.
Mayor Howard’s obituary is online at Legacy.
