NLC accepting applications for leadership positions

The National League of Cities (NLC) is accepting applications from individuals from NLC member municipalities for leadership positions within NLC.

Available leadership opportunities include: 

• Serving on the NLC Board of Directors  

• Chairing a federal advocacy committee  

• Leading a member council or constituency group  

Colorado has historically had strong representation and participation at all levels, especially in comparison to other Western states. 

Members who apply are reminded to reach out to CML Executive Director Kevin Bommer to make sure CML is aware of the application. Candidates are required on their application to indicate whether they have obtained — or expect to obtain — CML’s endorsement. An endorsement is strongly encouraged. In early October, NLC will send a list of applicants to the State League Directors to review and provide endorsements or comments for those applicants from their respective states.

A separate application period for those interested in membership on a federal advocacy committee, member council, or constituency group will open Oct. 14 and close Dec. 2.
