The president of the CML Executive Board announced dues for 2027 at the Annual Business Meeting during the CML conference in June. When the Board met in April it approved a change to the dues calculation to provide equity among members by removing the compounding effect of annual caps over decades.
To ensure each member municipality is aware of the 2027 municipal dues schedule, CML mailed each municipality a notification of its 2027 dues calculation. This courtesy notification is not a bill; CML will send your 2027 dues renewal statement in November. Please contact Allison Wright at cml@cml.org to request a copy of the notification letter.
As described at the Annual Business Meeting, your dues statement has been calculated according to CML’s bylaws. Key elements of the dues change include:
- Elimination of annual dues caps
- A gradual increase for municipalities with dues repressed by annual caps, phased in over four years for any municipality with an increase greater than $499. Your courtesy notification will indicate whether or not your municipality is receiving the four-year incremental calculation
- Dues schedule factors will be frozen for four years
- Starting in 2030, dues will be recalculated every two years to align with updated assessed valuation data
If you're a member municipality with questions about your dues calculation, please review the Notice of the 2026 Annual Business Meeting or contact CML Executive Director Kevin Bommer.
