CML salutes longtime municipal officials stepping down

The Colorado Municipal League would like to recognize the following individuals completing their service of eight or more years as elected officials. Their respective commitment to their municipalities represents the essence of leadership, effective governance, and empowerment of their communities for the benefit of all. 


Karen GriegoKaren Griego
Trinidad mayor and council member serving since 2017
Born and raised in Trinidad, Karen Griego graduated from Trinidad High School and attended Trinidad State Junior College. Griego has held many civic positions within the community, including founding member of Trinidad Tourism Board, board member on the Chamber of Commerce, member of Trinidad State Junior College Business Advisory Council, and board member of Noah's Ark Animal Welfare. Griego has served as council person, mayor pro-tem and mayor over the course of the past eight years. As co-owner of Griego Insurance, she has serviced clients for over 50 years. She was also previously a co-owner of the Wendy's franchise in Trinidad. Karen's compassion for others and love of her community is second to none.




Jacki MarchJacki Marsh 
Loveland mayor serving since 2017
Jacki Marsh is a longtime Loveland small business owner and dedicated civic leader who has served as mayor since 2017. Her career spans roles in early childhood education, bookkeeping, trade show marketing, purchasing management for an international software company, and executive leadership as a general manager in the home services sector. A committed public servant, Marsh began attending city council meetings years before seeking office and is now deeply engaged in community life, supporting local nonprofits, attending regional meetings, and serving on numerous boards and commissions. Her leadership is defined by transparency, equity, and strong community presence.




Steve OlsonSteve Olson 
Loveland council member serving since 2017
Steve Olson brought decades of public service to his tenure at city hall. Before entering local politics, he served nearly 30 years in the U.S. Navy. After moving to Loveland in 1997, he immersed himself in the community — serving on the planning commission, participating in the Citizens Finance Advisory Commission, volunteering with the American Red Cross, and supporting local youth through civic organizations.
