CMCA honors excellence in municipal service at annual awards ceremony

The Colorado Municipal Clerks Association (CMCA) celebrated excellence and dedication within the clerk community at its awards ceremony, held at the conclusion of its 2025 Annual Conference in Pueblo, Colorado, at the Historic Pueblo Union Depot.

CMCA closed out the conference with an evening of celebration, recognition, and heartfelt gratitude marking the grand conclusion to a week of education, networking, and inspiration.

Competition was fierce this year — CMCA saw an incredible 105% increase in nominations, reflecting the dedication and excellence found in clerk offices across the state. Every nominee was more than deserving of recognition for their service and impact, but after careful consideration, the committee selected this year’s honorees:

  • Rookie of the Year – Small Municipality: Allison Ritter, Town of Elizabeth
  • Rookie of the Year – Medium Municipality: Meghan Paisley, City of Evans
  • Outstanding Contribution to a Municipality – Small Municipality: Haley Curtis, Town of Kersey
  • Outstanding Contribution to a Municipality – Medium Municipality: Susan Ortiz, City of Greenwood Village
  • Outstanding Contribution to a Municipality – Large Municipality: Kristen Teague, City of Boulder
  • Outstanding Contribution to CMCA by a Clerk: Cindy Foster Owens, City of Cañon City
  • Outstanding Contribution to CMCA by a Non-Clerk: Nikki Lucas, The Place Setting Company
  • Clerk of the Year: Maddy Sielu, Town of Keystone

The evening was filled with laughter, applause, and even a few happy tears as colleagues celebrated each other’s accomplishments. Recipients had a chance to bask in the joy of being recognized for their dedication and impact — a true testament to the heart of the profession.

CMCA and the Awards Committee extend sincere thanks to all who participated by submitting nominations, reviewing entries, and supporting their peers. The success of this year’s event reflects the collective spirit and camaraderie of clerks statewide.
