    In 2021, the General Assembly passed House Bill 21-1162, the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act. As a result, a statewide fee of 10 cents on plastic and paper bags will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2023. On Nov. 2, 2022, CML, Recycle Colorado, and Colorado Counties, Inc. hosted a webinar and workgroup to discuss the implementation of the law, including best practices for collecting the fee from retail establishments, communication tips, and education resources, and an overview of commonly asked questions.

  • IT Workgroup to Discuss Website Accessibility Issues in HB21-1110

    The Colorado Municipal League, Colorado Counties Inc, and the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) formed a working group of IT professionals to discuss website accessibility issues under HB21-1110 (Strengthening Protections for Persons with Disabilities Against Discrimination). The first meeting of this working group took place on Monday, October 17. Participants heard short presentations from staff in Larimer County and Colorado Springs on their approaches to website accessibility and had a chance to discuss with other IT professionals on these issues.
