Following is a brief outline of the various responsibilities for CML staff members. It is intended to help officials from CML member municipalities direct their questions and comments to the appropriate person. E-mail links are provided to individual staff members (where available) so you can contact them directly. Simply click on the staffer's name. Staff Attorney: Rachel Allen - rallen@cml.org Rachel joined the CML staff in June 2005 as legal research associate. In August 2006 she became staff attorney. Under the direction of the general counsel, she provides general legal services, such as legal research, answering legal inquiries, drafting legal arguments and preparing legal publications.
Legislative Advocacy Manager: Kevin Bommer - kbommer@cml.org Kevin is responsible for managing CML’s legislative program, as well as advocating municipal interests before the state legislature. His issues include employment, labor, severance tax and federal mineral lease, medical marijuana, pensions, water, beer and liquor licensing, health care, immigration, and homeland security and other issues of municipal interest. He also assists in training and answering inquiries for other municipal officials on various topics. Kevin joined the League in 1999..
Meetings and Events Coordinator: Kathleen Harrison - kharrison@cml.org Kathleen coordinates all logistics for CML meetings and events including the annual conference, workshops, trainings, receptions and special events to support League activities. She has been with the League since 1997.
Database & Administrative Coordinator: Dia Lovato - dlovato@cml.org Dia answers phones in addition to providing staff support and customer service to our members. She also is responsible for maintaining the iMIS membership database, invoicing for advertising, sponsorship and dues, administration of the elected officials training program credits, listservs, publication inventory and orders, board meeting minutes, agendas, and elections. Dia joined the League in September 2008.
Executive Director: Sam Mamet - smamet@cml.org Sam is responsible to CML's 19-member executive board for executing the policies and programs of the League, supervising staff members, managing and coordinating activities and operations, recommending and developing organization policies and programs, and serving as a spokesperson for League policies. Sam has been with CML since 1979, and was appointed executive director in 2005.
Legislative and Policy Advocate: Mark Radtke - mradtke@cml.org Mark works on several policy projects of concern to municipalities throughout the state including transportation revenue and municipal finance. His lobbying responsibilities include transportation, urban renewal, downtown development authorities, property tax, economic development, and municipal debt and finance issues. Mark joined the League in 2007, bringing with him a background in journalism, public relations and lobbying.
Communications & Design Specialist: Traci Stoffel - tstoffel@cml.orgTraci edits and designs League communication materials, including the biweekly newsletter and bimonthly magazine, brochures, videos, and Web site. She is part of the of the membership services team and provides input on membership programs. She joined CML in April 2006.
Legislative & Policy Advocate: Meghan Storrie - mstorrie@cml.orgMeghan is responsible for advocating municipal interests before the state legislature. Her issues include affordable housing, building codes, lottery-related issues, gaming, historical preservation, and criminal justice. Meghan joined the League in 2011.
Communications Coordinator: Christine Taniguchi - ctaniguchi@cml.orgChristine is part of the membership services team and provides support to membership programs, including publications, marketing, and training. She joined CML in October 2011.
Membership Services Manager: Lisa White - lwhite@cml.orgLisa plans, directs, analyzes and evaluates membership programs including communications, research, publications, and training. She also handles marketing and public relations for the League. She joined CML in April 2007.
General Counsel: Geoff Wilson - gwilson@cml.org Geoff drafts legislation, provides research and advice, and represents the League before the General Assembly, various state agencies and officials, and the appellate courts on various matters affecting municipalities. He also provides information to municipal officials on legal matters through inquiry service. His areas of particular emphasis include sales and use taxation, TABOR, telecommunications, elections, open meetings and open records, land use, oil and gas regulation, utilities, and environmental matters. Additionally, Geoff provides legal services to the League on internal matters. He has been with the League since 1987.
Finance and Administration Manager: Allison Wright - awright@cml.org Allison is responsible for the management of financial and administrative activities of the League including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, human resources and benefits administration. In addition she develops CML policies and procedures and manages the administrative staff. Allison has been with the League since January 2006.
