State of Our Cities & Towns
In early 2009, CML released the report and survey details,
State of our Cities & Towns, to create a picture of the health of the cities and towns in Colorado. It includes a 14 minute, 30 second video (below),
that CML is asking municipalities to link to on their sites.
The report was sent to mayors of each member municipality; the public information officer of each member municipality was also sent the video, and with government access channels to
include as part of their programming rotation. If you need another copy, please contact Lisa White at
lwhite@cml.org.) Municipalities that do not have government access channels are encouraged to air the video at various community events or forums.
CML hopes that municipalities will use these resources to engage citizens. Here are a few easy ways to use the report and video:
- Use the report and DVD as a discussion tool among volunteer committees and boards and citizens academies.
- Visit schools in your community; air the video and talk to students about the value of municipal government.
- Write an article about this report in your city or town’s newsletter or submit a column to your local newspaper.
